GIB sale draws mixed reaction The sale of the Green Investment Bank (GIB) to Macquarie, announced by BEIS on Thursday 20 April, has drawn mixed reaction from energy industry stakeholders. Executive Director of RenewableUK, Emma Pinchbeck hailed Macquarie’s “strong track record” of managing renewable energy projects and said that the organisation was “confident” the sale would mean the GIB could grow and build on its past successes. However, Ed Davey, former Energy and Climate Change Secretary, said the sale was “environmentally irresponsible” and “politically dubious” on the eve of an election. ...
