Umair has worked and studied in three different countries, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Australia. He was born and raised in Saudi Arabia, did his electrical engineering studies in Pakistan, and is currently doing a research-based degree in “development of fault diagnostic method for lithium-ion batteries to enhance the reliability of electric vehicles” from the Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne, Australia.
He has worked in a range of different projects and roles, from energy/data analyst at the Centre for New Energy Technologies (C4NET) to research assistant at Monash Energy Institute (MEI) and Faculty of IT (FIT), and now energy market analyst intern at Cornwall Insight Australia. The projects he delivered and worked on include investigating the cognitive load of Australian energy market operators (AEMO), optimising solar PV using hot water systems, and currently working on understanding and detecting degradation modes induced in lithium-Ion batteries by different kinds of electrical abuses.
As an energy market analyst intern at Cornwall Insight Australia, Umair supports the organisation with subscription services in generating Energy market alerts, Energy market perspective, and Executive summary for our clients.
