Ofgem decisionDecision to make a Market Investigation Reference in Respect of the Supply and Acquisition of Energy in Great Britain 27 June 2014 Ofgem announced on 26 June that it is referring the energy market to the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) for a full competition investigation following a consultation (see Alert 27/03/14). The reference covers supply to domestic and small business customers. The regulator said 28 organisations responded to its consultation, along with 78 consumers; with nearly all of them supporting a referral to the CMA.
