OfgemMoving to Reliable Next-day Switching 23 February 2015 The regulator announced on 10 February its decision to lead a programme of work to deliver reliable next-day switching to consumers by 2019. The decision comes as a response to its June 2014 consultation on Moving to Reliable Next-Day Switching. Ofgem considers that an improved switching process can reduce real or perceived switching costs and increase consumer engagement. The regulator proposes that next-day switching will be achieved by replacing the existing switching services with a new Centralised Registration Service (CRS), governed by the Smart Energy Code and managed and operated by the Data and Communications Company (DCC). ...
