Legislation changeCfD Exemption for Energy Intensive Industries 13 October 2015 The government published its updated and amended Electricity Supplier Obligations Regulations 2015 on 1 April 2015. The legislative changes detail the arrangements for the exemption of Energy Intensive Industries (EII) from Contracts for Difference (CfD) arrangements. The legislation states the 52 EIIs that are exempt from the CfD arrangements. Business consumers who undertake such activities can then apply for an exemption certificate for their electricity meters along with evidence that their annual electricity cost impact is equal to or greater than a value of 0.2.
