Balancing market trends: 4 November 2015 Yesterday we saw the first signs of system stress for the winter of 2015-16 with National Grid issuing its’ first Notice of Insufficient Margin (NISM) since February 2012, its first ever call-up of Demand Side Balancing Reserve (DSBR) and procurement of 200MW of power from the East West Interconnector (EWIC) with Ireland in a System Operator to System Operator (SO to SO) transaction.
