Ofgem Statutory Consultation for a Vulnerable Customer Safeguard Tariff 12 October 2017 Headline Assessment 1 Assessment & recommendation The regulator published its expected statutory consultation on a vulnerable customer safeguard tariff on 11 October. This proposes extending the existing prepayment meter (PPM) price cap to also cover customers who are on default tariffs and currently receive, or received in the previous scheme year, the Warm Home Discount (WHD) from a WHD-mandatory supplier. Ofgem intends for this to be implemented by February 2018, and to expire by the end of December 2019, or when the government’s broader price cap comes into effect, whichever is first. ...
