Ofgem decision: Protecting Consumers Who Receive Backbills 13 March 2018 Headline Assessment 1 Assessment & recommendation On 5 March 2018, Ofgem confirmed its decision to introduce a new licence condition to prevent suppliers from backbilling customers for consumption older than 12 months, subject to certain exceptions including where the customer’s behaviour has been obstructive or manifestly unreasonable.
