Pricing A number of standard variable tariff (SVT) price rises became effective in March, resulting in the average cost of a large supplier SVT in March increasing by £26/year compared to February. Over the same time period, small and medium suppliers (SaMS) saw the average cost of a SVT increase by £40/year. The largest increase was from npower, which increased its standard tariff by £174.63/year, or 17.25%, for a typical customer. On 12 April, EDF Energy announced a second increase to its SVT price. This will be incorporated into the next Domestic Market Metrics Pack Service In March 2017, Citizens Advice published a customer service rating for 18 suppliers in place of previous weighted customer complaints statistics. It will be updated quarterly and suppliers are scored from 1 – 5 stars, with the following factors taken into consideration: complaint handling, ease of switching, ease of contact, bill clarity and whether it is signed ...
