Gareth is CEO at Cornwall Insight, following successful careers as an energy project financier for Barclays and as a civil servant at the Department of Energy and Climate Change.

Gareth has a strong background in business leadership, based on more than five years of company board level experience, and fifteen years in various senior management roles. In term of market expertise and skills, Gareth is specialist in energy market investment, policy design and option assessment, as well as strategy. He has extensive practical experience in consulting, research and report authorship as well as being a practiced trainer.

Highlights from Gareth’s career include financing many major infrastructure projects across Europe, playing a key role in the creation of the GB Contract for Difference scheme, and leading the growth and expansion of Cornwall Insight into consulting generally, and latterly into new international markets.
