Introducing Energy Spectrum Europe

Cornwall Insight is pleased to announce the launch of Energy Spectrum Europe. This new addition to the Energy Spectrum stable will provide the authoritative, independent insight and analysis of energy markets for which its peers covering Great Britain, Ireland and Australia are rightly renowned. Every month Energy Spectrum Europe will capture the most important news, insight and analysis covering power, heat, transport and industry sectors in the key European markets.

Mirroring the format in our GB and Australia reports, each month will have a unique Energy Perspective covering the commercial implications of a strategic sector issue. This in-depth analysis is developed by our market-leading experts in Cornwall Insight and Institute of Energy Economics at the University of Cologne.

The aim of our new publication is to provide comprehensive coverage by initially distilling the important elements of sectoral developments across Germany, Spain, Italy, France, Scandinavia, GB, Ireland, and EU policy and regulation. It will support understanding of the key themes driving the sector and the implications for market participants. It will enable tracking of company news and strategic developments including auctions and power purchase agreements in the renewables market.

The publication will also provide information on preparing for the net zero transition by providing the current regulation and policy targets for net zero and how different countries in Europe are approaching it. It will also cover information on how generation targets are being met and what new policies are being put in place to reach them. Coverage of the new energy sources entering the market such as hydrogen and other new technologies coming online will also be included.

Cornwall Insight content manager Veronica Truman said: “In the week we mark 15 years of covering the British energy markets in Energy Spectrum, it is very exciting to be able to bring Cornwall Insight’s analysis and expertise to these dynamic and fast changing markets. We believe that alongside our partners at the Institute of Energy Economics at the University of Cologne, we can bring real insight that will add considerable value to all those interested in European energy markets.”

The report is aimed at supporting energy companies, asset owners, generators, transmission system providers, distribution network owners, suppliers, end-users, agents (metering providers, aggregators, tech providers etc.) and investors to help inform business and operations decisions across a range of geographies.
