SSE announces partnership to develop smart city platform SSE Enterprise has announced a new partnership with digital products company Tigerspike to use Amazon Web Services (AWS) to develop its smart city platform. Announced on 14 January, the platform is intended to allow local authorities access to better information to improve air quality, urban parking management, electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure and support for vulnerable people. The partnership will invest in developing an Internet of Things platform in collaboration with AWS, with sensors and devices connected to SSE’s Mayflower smart lighting and other parallel communications networks. SSE Enterprise said that the move is part of a wider transformation that will encompass distributed energy, EV charging, building energy management, fibre communications services and power network management. SSE Enel partners with C3 to deliver AI suite for digital transformation Enel has appointed AI software provider C3 as its strategic provider of big data platforms and applications across its business, it was announced on 22 January. Enel and C3 have previously had a five-year collaboration, with the latest AI suite to allow Enel to provide its developers, data scientists, and business analysts one common and secure view of all its data, enabling them to collaborate and rapidly develop AI applications.
