Summary – Day-ahead gas prices in the UK market stayed below 30p/th last week, with the passing of Storm Brendan resulting in lower CCGT generation and thus less gas-for-power demand. Additional weight came from falling oil, carbon and LNG prices. High wind generation also meant that baseload power prices fell below £33/MWh, yet finished the week higher at £38.50/MWh as wind generation dropped late in the week. All seasonal power and gas contracts declined last week. Seasonal power prices were down on average by 3.3%, and gas contracts by 6.0%.
