Review backs support for small modular reactors An expert finance working group appointed by the government has concluded that developers of small modular reactors (SMRs) should be offered support on the same basis as offshore wind. Reported in the FT on Tuesday 7 August, the group said that for technologies capable of being commercially deployed by 2030, the government should focus on bringing first-of-a-kind projects to market through a number of different mechanisms to lower their cost of capital.
