T-4 Capacity Market auction clears at record low price

The T-4 2021-22 Capacity Market auction cleared at £8.40/kW/year on 8 February, a record low price for a four year ahead auction. A total of 439 Capacity Market Units (CMUs) were awarded agreements, equating to an overall capacity of 50.41GW. This meant that, from the 74.2GW to enter the auction, 67.9% were successful in being awarded Capacity Agreements for delivery in 2021-22.
