Following Storm Eleanor both ESB Networks and Northern Ireland Electricity (NIE) Networks have been working to restore power to thousands of customers. ESB announced on Wednesday 3 January that it had by then managed to restore power to 148,000 customers in Ireland following the storm. At that point 2,000 homes, farms and businesses that lost their supply as a resort of Storm Eleanor were still without power.
