This week, we look at MOSL’s latest switching stats. The calendar year has seen just under 70,000 switches, compared to 100,000 in 2019 and 108,000 in 2018. MOSL also published a summary of the responses from trading parties following a request for information regarding the Strategic Metering Review and has published its December Market Focus report. The Water Industry Commission for Scotland published its final determination for the Strategic Review of Charges 2021-27, allowing Scottish Water to deliver £4.5bn of investment over the next six years. Scottish Water published its Annual Report and Accounts for the 2019-20 financial year, reporting that revenue increased by £146.8mn to £1,615.9mn. Meanwhile, Scottish Water Business Stream may need between £47mn and £88mn in financial support due to the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on the businesses it serves. Frontier Economics has examined the economic impacts of COVID-19 on the water sector. Scottish Water has started work to install its first combined solar power and battery storage facility near one of its wastewater treatment sites.
