Introducing the GB Water Markets

Another milestone in the GB water markets has been reached this year as competition for business supply in England is introduced. This follows the opening of the business retail market in Scotland in 2008. In this new course from Cornwall we will provide an introduction to the GB water markets by taking a look at the rationale for retail competition, how the markets are regulated, and the key actors and players. Attendees will also learn the structure of charges for water supply, waste water, surface water drainage and trade effluent. The one-day course will conclude with a look at how water policy is focused on tackling environmental, resilience, and affordability challenges for the medium and long-term future.

This course will benefit

  • Water retailers
  • Business customers and their representatives
  • Brokers
  • Other actors in the utility sector thinking of entering the water market
