Hybrid Sites - Unlocking the Potential Behind Single Connection Points

Our experts will explore the extensive system-wide benefits of Hybrid Sites* in Ireland and Northern Ireland. These benefits include the ability to connect more renewable and storage technology units to the system, accelerating the rollout of these technologies, which would effectively inject a much-needed boost towards our 2030 Renewable Energy targets.

The session will address the existing limitations preventing the complete realisation of these benefits, and consider the potential capacity for hybrid sites that could be developed across the island.

*Hybrid Sites are multi-technology sites connected behind one single connection point that offer a range of advantages. Currently, hybrid sites are not permitted, however, changes to regulation could facilitate their connection. These changes would enable full utilisation of a connection point, and allow hybrid sites to deliver benefits for developers, System Operators and the wider system.
