FCAS not dead?

A couple of months ago, AEMO released the final Inputs, Assumptions, and Scenarios Report (IASR) that contains the basis of all planning publications for the next few years. 

The changing electricity consumption and generation pattern in the NEM is introducing new challenges to the operation of the energy system; minimum and negative demand have been notable examples as of late. The lack of firmness from variable renewable generation or the degradation of essential services are other challenges that we are all grappling with. 

This Chart of the week briefly examines another aspect – the impacts of demand variability on system risks.
