The CBI and Energy UK have launched a joint report setting out how cutting business energy costs could help kickstart UK growth. Cornwall Insight provided the data underpinning it, including cost forecasts and a set of seven business energy archetypes built to reflect the full range of the UK economy, from high street shops to data centres.

The modelling shows there’s no single business experience of energy costs. A manufacturer, a data centre and a commercial site all face very different bills depending on how and where they operate, and industrial businesses outside current support schemes could see costs rise by as much as 20% by 2027.

Read the full report to see the policy recommendations in detail, including proposals on electricity taxes, network reform and support for business electrification:

The CBI and Energy UK trusted Cornwall Insight’s modelling to shape a national conversation on business energy costs. The same modelling is available to businesses trying to get ahead of their own bills.
