Pixie Chart of the week | 2018 EV sales to match National Grid projection

On 5 November, the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) published its October 2018 EV registration data. The graph shows a 6% increase on EV registrations for the year-to-date compared to 2017, although for the majority of 2018, BEV sales were slightly down.

This week’s Pixie Chart of the week compares new monthly registrations for 2017 and 2018. It is projected that the 6% increase in sales growth will continue in November and December. As a result, 2018 registrations will exceed those in 2017. This will marginally beat the National Grid’s Future Energy Scenario average projection for 2018.
