In 2012, when the process of Electricity Market Reform got underway, the Big Six owned (or in the case of SSE, part owned) 73% of the GB CCGT fleet, by the end of 2017 this had fallen to 63% and if the sale of Scottish Power’s assets were to go through this would fall further to 56%.
